Web Standards

Where possible, Sandvox-produced webpages are fully compliant with the XHTML 1.0 Strict standard. Where not (for example the page contains non-XHTML Raw HTML), output is compliant XHTML Transitional or HTML 4.0.1.

Note that your host may well serve your site's pages as HTML rather than XHTML. This should not cause a problem with any known browsers.

Additionally, with Sandvox Pro, you can submit pages for validation by the W3C.

Differences in Pages

It is possible for your website to contain a mix of compliance levels. For instance, if you have an External Page of Flickr badge on a page, that page will be XHTML Transitional, while other pages without that kind of content will be Strict. This may cause some subtle differences in appearances, because browsers tend to heed the web standards declaration in determining how to render a page. In practice, this is rarely a concern.
