Photo

There are three ways to incorporate a photo in a Sandvox site: on a Photo page, on a Photo pagelet, or as an Embedded Image on a text page.

Photo pages and pagelets are specialized: they display a single photo, but they are not meant to incorporate large amounts of text together with photos. Photo pages are often used together to make a Photo Album.

If you want to include an image within some text, then a Photo page or pagelet is not for you. Instead, you want to create an Embedded Image within a text page.

Photo pages and pagelets support a wide range of image formats. For more information, please see "Images".

Ways to add a Photo to a site:

If you create a Photo page or pagelet by dragging an image from iPhoto, Sandvox will incorporate information about the Photo if it is available, including the Photo's title, caption and any tags.

Sandvox automatically replaces a Photo page's icon in the Site Outline with a thumbnail of the photo like this:

Photo pages and pagelets are limited in their width in order to accommodate the size of the site design. For more information, please see "Image sizing of Photo pages and pagelets."

Settings

To edit a Photo page:

  1. Select the page in the Site Outline.
  2. Open the Page Inspector to adjust any general page attributes; otherwise use the Selection Inspector.

To edit a Photo pagelet:

  1. Click the pagelet to select it.
  2. Open the Selection Inspector. The top half contains general pagelet attributes; the bottom contains settings specific to the Photo pagelet. These are the same options available in the Selection Inspector for a Photo page.
