Photo
There are three ways to incorporate a photo in a Sandvox site: on a Photo page, on a Photo pagelet, or as an Embedded Image on a text page.
Photo pages and pagelets are specialized: they display a single photo, but they are not meant to incorporate large amounts of text together with photos. Photo pages are often used together to make a Photo Album.
If you want to include an image within some text, then a Photo page or pagelet is not for you. Instead, you want to create an Embedded Image within a text page.
Photo pages and pagelets support a wide range of image formats. For more information, please see "Images".
Ways to add a Photo to a site:
- Use the "Pages" or "Pagelets" items in the toolbar.
- Choose "Add Page" or "Add Pagelet" from the Site menu.
- Drag an image (from the Media Browser, Finder or another application) to the Site Outline or Web View.
If you create a Photo page or pagelet by dragging an image from iPhoto, Sandvox will incorporate information about the Photo if it is available, including the Photo's title, caption and any tags.
Sandvox automatically replaces a Photo page's icon in the Site Outline with a thumbnail of the photo like this:

Photo pages and pagelets are limited in their width in order to accommodate the size of the site design. For more information, please see "Image sizing of Photo pages and pagelets."
Settings
To edit a Photo page:
- Select the page in the Site Outline.
- Open the Page Inspector to adjust any general page attributes; otherwise use the Selection Inspector.
To edit a Photo pagelet:
- Click the pagelet to select it.
- Open the Selection Inspector. The top half contains general pagelet attributes; the bottom contains settings specific to the Photo pagelet. These are the same options available in the Selection Inspector for a Photo page.

Source
Two options are available here: "From file" and "From URL."
- In most cases, you will add photos from files on your computer. Under "From file" click "Choose" to browse to the location of the the photo file you want to display on the page.
- The "From URL" option allows you to use an image hosted on another website. Enter the address of the image. Both copyright law and common courtesy suggest that you should not use this option unless you have permission from the hosting site, so please do not "hijack" images from other websites.
Description
Type here the text that you want to display for for any visitors who cannot see the image. Please see "Accessibility" for further information.
Link To
Check the box and the photo becomes a link. There are two choices here.
- Selecting "Link to full-size image" will display a magnifying glass
below the image. Visitors can click the magnifying glass to view the full-size photo. (Note: This feature will only appear in the published site; clicking the magnifying glass within Sandvox will not open the image.) - Choosing "Link to external URL" will turn the photo itself into a link; when visitors click on the photo, they will be taken to the URL you specify here.
